Boardwalk Collection
Deckchair fabric layouts, dimensions, and tessellation patterns are combined with my colour studies, developed over the past four years during visits to various seaside towns.
These colour collections form the foundation of my work, guiding its development and design.
With a strong focus on geometry and a palette that evokes the experience of strolling along a seaside pier, I explore the interplay of colour. I seek simplicity, harmony, balance, and emotional impact, drawing inspiration from the practices and notes of artist Bridget Riley. Her work has opened doors to experimentation, encouraging me to discover new possibilities by using painted paper cutouts to shape his process and compositions.
Like Riley, my work is “rooted in my experience of drawing the nude and from nature,” bringing a sense of depth and connection to his exploration of colour and form.
